Aya T. Albasti is an associate at DeRiso Law Group focusing on the practice of family law. Aya prides herself in leading with empathy and compassion.

Aya graduated summa cum laude from Duquesne University with a B.A. in psychology. Her passion for understanding and helping others compelled her to pursue a career in law. Aya attended law school at Michigan State University College of Law where she quickly discovered her love for family law. She spent her Michigan summers clerking at family law firms and worked as a student clinician with MSU’s Chance at Childhood Clinic, advocating for the best interests of children.

After graduating cum laude from MSU Law, Aya returned to her home state of Pennsylvania where she was subsequently admitted to practice. She began her post-graduate legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James J. Panchik and the Honorable Chase G. McClister, and additionally worked as a custody conciliation conference officer at the Armstrong County Court of Common Pleas.

When Aya is out of the office, she loves spending time with her family, reading books that transport her to fictional realities, and writing her work-in-progress novel series.
